Gardonyi’ Geza Gardonyi’s historical novel “Eclipse of the Crescent Moon” is thoroughly entertaining. The characters are interesting and there are few lulls in the action. The book is well translated and an engaging read. I thought of news reports of the heroic efforts of the Hungarian revolt in Budapest of in my teen years. A must read for anyone, Hungarian or not.

I thought of news I really enjoyed reading this classic Hungarian historical fiction of the siege of Eger Castle, Hungary. For the astronomical phenomenon, see lunar eclipse. This narrative, exquisitely written, follows the child in a chronicle of the Ottoman wars, through his adoptive father’s heroic exploits, through a romance with the beautiful Eva, and culminates in an epic drama which will satisfy the myriad tastes gardonyk most readers.

The writing was well done, the vocabulary fairly high and challenging, and the characters were developed amazingly well.

This book is directed towards those interested in learning about Hungary, or those into thrilling adventures and can stand a slight lag in the action. The latter part of the novel is more history than fiction. I haven’t read the English version yet, just started the Hungarian one so I can’t comment on the accuracy of the translation yet.
Infinity War and Aquaman. The writing is not the best, at times disjointed, and in broken chronological order with poor transitions, and cssillagok was, in fact, written as a series of related pieces and assembled into a book at the end.
The novel consists of five parts that tell the life of Gergely Bornemissza from the age of eight until the yearwhen he is in his early thirties. I much preferred the scene near the end when a Turkish mother and a Hungarian mother are both reunited with their missing children, and their eyes – and hands – meet in acknowledgement of their shared sense of relief and humanity.

For some reason I was expecting the whole lot of defenders to die, even though my partner mentioned that they actually beat the turks. I read this book to prepare for a trip to Hungary including the town of Eger.
