Much respect for the author for delving into dangerous situations to achieve great journalism. It is a good book but it makes my blood boils to know that Indonesia can be so hypocritical and corrupt guards and police are selling drugs inside the jail itself!

Highly recommend to all who want to find out about foreign prisons. I was shocked but not surprised. Hotel K is a first hand insight into one of the worlds most violent and corrupt prisons.
