A few weeks ago this is what I tentatively wrote for my review: I skim read much of the second half. Lists with This Book. Unfortunately, I don’t actually like it that much. Is it any wonder this book is so beloved ddel writers? Montale sta su un altro pianeta. It is sometimes said that the deassosiego greatest Portuguese poets of modern times are Fernando Pessoa.
I just feel that it never got adequately off the ground. Readers have different views on the merits of the translations. What the fcuk is that? His intelligence served only to bemoan the tragedy of coexisting with such a sensibility.
It is the story of his life, which was very little but intellectual. It’s not clear whether Pessoa regarded the project as a novel.
It goes on to say that the book was originally started as having been written, though, by a completely different heteronym, but that the subsequent additions and revisions Pessoa made relegated this original character to nothing.
Found myself going back and forth, that’s what worked for me. From time to time Pessoa turns a sharp phrase.

And, through it all, you can see the poor guy’s love of life. Partially because it has taken some time to collect the individual sections which make up the work and partially because Pessoa’s handwriting was borderline unintelligible. This book is not for everyone though.
This cruel treatment of the gators in preparation for his final act was immediately denounced by PETA, and his shameless disregard for their welfare was universally lambasted by all local media outlets. I’m also aware that I might have liked this work much more at a different stage of my life. Not even the most desperate dissertation could convince me such a place is discernable.
People love this book.

A unique collection of fragmented thoughts, observations, dreams and ideals of a solitary man. In me every tiny detail is recorded and magnified in order to form part rernando a whole. This book, though, leaves me confused. The onanist may be an abject creature but in truth he is the logical expression of the lover. This might not be such a big deal. Fame and ambition, rain and dreams. That would be worse than this.

This is not a normal book. It is a disquiet soul’s rambling.
