New 8th Edition FAQ and Errata – Bell of Lost Souls
If all they truly wanted to do was “close the loophole” then simple fix was to say “in the charge phase, measure base to base when calculating the distance required for the charge. Nothing new here, this was from FAQ 1. Didnt make a lot of sense because the unit was already deployed, and not reinforcing your army.
Others as per SM update Blood Angels: The FAQ adresses the match play issue.
Eh, in my mind, the CP and stratagems are just another resource to be balanced and used to decide who is the better player, just like points and army composition. I now have such a massive reward for taking minimum size troop allocations for massive benefits in armies which that should neither be present in nor should be incentivised in.
It’s almost like GW knew as much when they showed errta picture of a Sanguinary Guard next to the errata about assault distances Additionally, if they are capable of nerfing a specific codex in a faq then they should be able to buff a specific codex in an faq. I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It doesn’t care about reserves and the hit to CP regeneration is minimal since the list starts with so many already.
DO NOT post point values for errsta and upgrades in your army lists, only the total point value of the eerata. Slight Commisar buff, changes to some units wargear, clarifications Erratq Because between this, the fly keyword nerf, and the upping of CP cost for UWoF we are absolutely broken as a mono army.
Xenos 1 Autarch equipment clarified in Designer Comentary with it’s new flowchart V1. Individual factions issue will be adressed in CA, and space marine are already know to get a upgrade in CA.
There is nothing to suggest that ba will definitely be fixed in CA. I feel you here as a Blood Angels player. You have a lot of movement in the movement phase. Im curious what kinda list you were running anyways. Most books have changes, you should definitely go and read them as there are some major changes across the board. Now has a nifty flow chart for figuring out when you use rules from which book.
September FAQ/Errata UPDATE : Warhammer40k
The blood angels strat is explicitly targeting smash captains in Soup lists I think. I think the real boon is that Power Level no longer screws BA over. It just makes it riskier in an army that already isn’t amazing. And we put on our serious hats. My metamorphs errzta hand flamers. Mostly clarifications and changes to Refusal to Yield V1.
Also, beginning with either 5th or 6th, they introduced Allies, whereas before that you had to stick with one particular Codex with minor exceptions for things like Deathwatch or Inquisitorsopening up your choices allowed for much more competitive combinations you wouldn’t have been able to do beforehand, but it’s better than the bullshit that was the Unbound system in 7th, which was basically “take whatever you want”, so I could have a Baneblade supported by Carnifexes, and some Fire Dragons and Broadsides thrown in.
Then there are tourney lists; lists that you take to kick the everliving shit out of your opponent that will lose you friends if you take them it to your flgs friendly games. Was reaaaaally hoping they’d errata plasma to work like it does in kill team, and only blow up on unmodified 1s. Major changes to Fly, target allocation and targeting. Now they’re spending CP per turn to make the castellan powered up and only getting back 1 max, and the captains can’t ignore screens or make 0″ charges, and with the 2CP cover strat the AM aren’t doing any real damage if they get first turn.
What they changed absolutely targets the specific lists that skewed the meta – just like the last FAQ targeted specific lists that skewed the meta.
Heavy burst cannons got a new, much better profile in the codex. Like, I get that it’s about competitive play and that’s largely about following the meta, but seriously, if someone’s trying to come up with a list, help them build that list better, not some completely different list.
Going back to 7th isn’t a solution. You are only essentially guaranteed to make combat on T3, by which point the game is largely decided.
I’m not happy with the CP increase, but being able to put real power in reserve makes a huge difference in how our assaults play out. Mostly points values and errata where Deamons are present. More news after IK’s launches. This also affects the barracuda. What’s frustrating about eldat, is all the other typically deepstrike heavy armies that got their codex before the deep strike rules were introduced, so just got shafted. Might as well bring back riptide wing.
Orks and Tyranids can now quite literally mow over Harlequins with almost no impunity. They can’t be out in the open or they’ll die. The first beta deepstrike erratw was met with the same reaction and everyone said ‘dont worry it’s a beta’ Well the revised beta is worse and they even ledar in stratgems and fly keyword nerfs.
There is just less variety in dldar to play the game now. I see this as a quick fix to keep everything in line before their codex drops in November just a guess. Jury Rigging and Take Cover stratagem changes. Berzerkers and Noise marines are troops for their respective armies. Also modifies the Codex.
