Having the audio along with the ebook was a fun experience since there is some music present while Emilie reads her work which is great and mixes it up and creates new dynamics to it.

In reality, it just makes the poems seem immature which they are, really. I’d recommend fans to give it a read, and maybe people who enjoy poetry about longing and love.

They were weak and boring a lot of times–But she was a teenager when she put these words on paper so Poetry is the one type of writing where you’re supposed to be able to do what you wanna do. It makes the record sound pretentious and actually aggravates the ears, which are wanting to focus on the unemotional verse, but can’t for a super repetitive harpsichord and strings chiming in throughout.

I yor like Autumn’s dishonesty which makes me find it difficult to take even something like her poetry seriously. Her best project will always be Opheliac which I would consider more of her debut because this was when she was finally recognised and started to gain a following.

Reading all those poems were like reading lyrics to Emilie Autumn songs. Still very poor literature accompanied by nice sounds. Everything feels false with her, robotic almost, there sugae never any emotion and I guess it doesn’t help that the author is a severely dishonest individual.

Not much into poetry but just love emilie not matter what she does my Absloute favorite tho has to be ghost, it’s just so beautiful.

I didn’t like it because I felt it was repetitive and cheesy and pretty sounds didn’t really change my opinion. Close for example contained the disturbingly telling line, “You make me feel worthy of pinching”. I’m glad I stumbled emilei it somewhere in the internet. Lost my concentration somewhere near the beginning, thanks to a chocolate bar and my sister practising a Panic!


Also the strong American accent doesn’t work well reading poetry in a fake British accent. It would have been more fluent if she lost this habit she has of trying to sound kensington when she’s Malibu. View all 5 comments.

A lot of these poems were written in the Enchant -era of Emilie’s career where she was heavily inspired nutouched Shakespeare, Elizabethans and medieval faerietales. Still young but doesn’t change the fact that she released this audio later on. There is only one poem out of the whole list I liked, one, and that was barely. Want to Read saving…. The whole performance of the poetry in this is also forced and dry. Always, she has this ugly tendency to fake a more intellectual accent that is so irritating, I had to listen to this record in six parts to complete it.
