Olympia: Katakolon Tips

Trying to offer a 40 minutes tour to the countryside so tourist can relax and get an idea how Greek land and villages that do not work with tourist look like, your description was much more better than mine when I explain them where they go and what they will meet!
I assumed it was some place in Turkey, maybe having something to do with Galipoli or maybe a city on the Black Sea.

Tourists on their holidays to Greece often disembark to get a glimpse of Ancient Olympia, where the Olympic Games are known to have been held in classical times. Despite my nagging, the kids refused to race. We passed them all, and strolled around the picturesque streets, full of souvenir shops, little cafes, and tavernas, and along the harbor, aligned with restaurants and bars admiring the sea. Katakolon today is the second most busy cruise port of Greece, katakolno Piraeus port, according to recent statistics. All things to do in Olympia I doubt that was even legal, especially given the speed we were driving, but it certainly made for a fun, although not so safe, experience. ,atakolon Olympia is where the ancient Greeks came every 4 years to celebrate the sacred games dedicated to Zeus. Nick our tour guide was wonderful, not only with advice but driving us safely.
Zoom in to see updated info. Athens will be very muggy, and I agree with a previous writer that the city seemed sad, not colorful like the islands. Thankfully the strike did not extend to Katakolon and we drove into the small seaside town and found a parking lot the size of the one at your local mall, filled with cars, buses, taxis, horse drawn carriages, and even a vehicle that looked something like a tourist train though it had a row of seats on either side of a bar and there was a keg of beer in the front next to the driver.
You had an amazing experience and I would also like to visit this spot! We had local olives and garlic bread, and then a Greek salad for me and the grilled octopus for my boyfriend, all accompanied by Greek beer.
